  1. Q:  If there is a resurgence of interest in Marshall 
  2. McLuhan, what would you attribute it to?

  4. A:  A vacuum in thinking, at the moment generally. I 
  5. suppose people are trying to come to terms with 
  6. the increasing banality of what‚Äôs on television and 
  7. the surfeit of information. And so we‚Äôre all 
  8. struggling, I think to try and achieve some 
  9. intellectual understanding of the stupefying of our 
  10. lives or the information that we‚Äôre getting in our 
  11. lives‚Äîand there‚Äôs Marshall McLuhan to explain it 
  12. all.
